The first names to be listed in the performance programme are Nyege Nyege Tapes’ Takkak Takkak, New York City–based experimental musician Lea Bertucci, Ukrainian sound artist Khrystyna Kirik from Kyiv, and the brand-new A/V performance ‘Oneiris’ by Chloe Lula and Tym Novy. The performances will primarily take place in the raw industrial setting of Brutus.
Alongside the performance programme, the Conflux exhibition at the iconic Katoenhuis will showcase both established and emerging artistic practices. Most of these artists have been invited to create commissioned works reflecting this year’s theme ‘Rites of Decay’. Among the exhibition participants are Rotterdam-based multidisciplinary artist Puck Wacki, and Ronald van der Meijs, known for his thought-provoking site-specific installations and sculptures. Pelle Schilling will present his kinetic installation ‘Reflectie’, visual artist Dineke van Oosten will debut a new audiovisual laser installation, and ritualistic performance artist Toine Klaassen will transform one of the large Katoenhuis spaces into a landscape made from industrial fallout and discarded materials. Experimental musician and visual artist Khrystyna Kirik will also present an audiovisual installation exploring four unique ecological environments impacted by Russia’s violent attacks.
